What
does a Healthy Lifestyle really mean?

A
healthy lifestyle means you should never diet to obtain weight loss. Instead you need to combine a good nutritional
diet along with a good fitness plan.
I made a healthy lifestyle change and I would like to
share it with you.
I
have been on so many diets it would make your head spin. Until one day I
decided to implement a healthy lifestyle change so I “quit dieting” and changed
the way I was eating and decided to give the fitness thing a try. I realized
that after trying every diet possible and never losing anything that I was
obviously going about it the wrong way. I
needed to figure out how a person should eat to obtain healthy weight loss
instead of running out and buying the next big miracle diet. I started reading health magazines, books and
doing online research until I understood that the body needs certain nutrients
like proteins, fruits and vegetable, water and certain types of carbohydrates. Once
I had this understanding I put the theory to test. First, I never miss a meal
instead I eat 4 to 5 small meals a day to help keep my metabolism rev’d up. I
learned the right type of foods and proportions for my body type. For instance
I found that I cannot eat beef it is hard for me to metabolize and makes me
retain water weight. Turkey,
chicken and fish are better for me. Then I developed a beginner level fitness plan that worked for me.
I
now know how to read those confusing nutrition labels and understand them
enough to be careful in making my food choices when at the grocery store. When
I go shopping I try to stay with fresh fruits and produce and/or frozen
vegetables. When selecting meats I buy low fat turkey and skinless chicken. It
is a really good idea to have a low fat cookbook on hand for variety in your
meals. Never ever go to the grocery store hungry it will sabotage your healthy
eating.
My
healthy lifestyle change certainly was not easy at first but the more I learned
about weight loss the healthy way the easier it became. I always made sure I was well prepared for
every meal to keep myself from straying or wondering what I was going to eat. I know that it will be hard at first; I was
there and remember it very well. Try to keep yourself motivated with special
rewards for short and long term goals. I
would reward myself with something I was craving every couple weeks. I rewarded myself with a new wardrobe once I
lost 100 lbs. and I will be going on a fabulous cruise once I hit my goal of
130lbs. The best rewards by far are the
compliments I get from my friends, family and acquaintances.
I
did it and it really works. I was
overweight all my life and made no attempt at any kind of physical activity. After I made the healthy lifestyle change the
weight started falling off. I went from
280 pounds at my heaviest down to 160 without being on a diet; all it took was
a healthy lifestyle change. I look and
feel great. I am now a regular at the gym and I constantly have people asking
me how I did it and wanting my help so they can do the same thing. Give it a try and with a little work and a lot
of determination it will happen for you to.
